The last day for Judo before the fall session begins is Saturday 8/20/11. We will be off for two weeks and resume Wednesday 9/07/11. Please be sure to mark your calendars. During the time the gym will be unavailable as the YW will be cleaning the mats and performing maintenance.

Financial Aid Information

Bates Scholarship Fund

Those needing financial assistance may apply for Pearl Bates Scholarships in person at the Registration Office, or by calling the Financial Aid Coordinator at 609-497-2100, ext. 319. Financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and only if funds are available. Applications must be received at least ten days prior to the start of classes. Applications with unanswered questions will not be considered.

Congratulations to Mike Tusay on his first place finish in the US Judo Open held in Florida over the weekend of July 4th, 2011. Michael’s first place finish was in the Masters 81 kilogram, 31-39 year old division.

No Practice – July 4th weekend

With a few exceptions we are at the end of the 2010/2011 tournament season. This past season we have had many more judoka compete than in the past and look forward to the 2011/2012 season which will kick off on September 17^th (Seniors) and 18^th (Juniors)at NJIT in Newark with the East Coast Judo Championship.  

I would like to take this time to congratulate Alaine Abuan, Michael Tusay and Michelle Arias on their exceptional seasons. Listed below you will find their 2010/2011 accomplishments they hope to expand upon with participation in events such as the World Judo Collegiate Championships, the United States Junior Nations and the US Open. Please join me in congratulating our club mates.
