Hane-goshi (Springing Hip)

Most effective when done by a shorter player on a taller opponent. The distinguishing element is engagement of tori's hip. Works well after preparatory attacks such as O-uchi-gari or Ko-uchi-gari. Counters include Ura-nage, Utsuri-goshi or Ushiro-goshi.
