Ashi-guruma (Leg Wheel)

The key to this throw is blocking uke's leg at the knee rather than sweeping it. In competition, Ashi-guruma can be attempted at any time, but it works best when used as a follow up to a failed hip throw. Good counterattacks against Ashi-guruma include Ushiro-goshi, Ura-nage or Utsuri-goshi.
